Hi, my name is Anina van Wyk. I was born in Potchefstroom in South Africa in 1994. Ever since I could remember I loved painting, illustration and taking photos.

People always asked me, why I chose design? I can honestly tell you; I was under the impression that I could make a lot of money selling my drawings to "fancy" people. I was a young girl planning on buying the world and everything pretty in it. With that said I am not only a dreamer, but I am currently a young designer with a passion for detail and the art of communicating through visual language. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in visual communication design at Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 2016.

I believe every designer has the freedom to not only change perceptions, but the power to change the future. I lived and worked as a English teacher in Shanghai, China from April 2017-July 2018. This adventure has not only fun, but one of the biggest adventures I've ever had. My time in Shanghai has taught me to appreciate the detail and to embrace culture and language through a new perception. This experience made me recognize the importance of language in our society and made me excited to explore visual language in new depth.

In the end of 2018, I started my career as a Graphic Design. I am thankful that through opportunities in my life, I was taught to look at life with a new, fresh and inspired perception and I have not looked back ever since. I am blessed!
